A family from Pennar, Pembroke Dock is devastated after two of their Lakeland Terriers were stolen from their back garden last Tuesday night.
Ian Smith and Carla Brunton woke in the early hours of Wednesday morning and were heartbroken when they found six-year-old bitch Vixen and her eight-week-old puppy were missing from their kennel.
The family pets, which are pedigree Lakeland Terriers, were taken between 9.30pm on Tuesday August 28th and 5.40am the next morning, from the garden of the house on Nelson Street.
Ian and Carla are shocked and upset that their beloved animals have been taken.
"We are considering putting in CCTV now because it is a growing crime and we are just so worried someone will try to take the four we have left," said Ian.
"I could hardly sleep last night, every little noise is worrying. The thought of someone in your back garden makes you feel really unsafe," added Carla.
Vixen had been with Ian "day in, day out for six years" and the couple planned to keep the puppy for their youngest child.
Ian also keeps Lurchers at another location and was shocked to discover that attempts had been made to break into those kennels the night after Vixen and her puppy were stolen.
Anyone with information is asked to contact WPC Cole at Pembroke Dock police station on 0845 330 2000.
