Nurse admits attempted murder

A Pembroke Dock man has this morning pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder.

Kelvin John Bull-De'ath, of Charles Thomas Avenue, attended Swansea Crown Court today for a plea and case management hearing before Judge Christopher Morton.

Bull-De'ath, a nurse at Withybush hospital, admitted attempting to murder Marion Powell, aged 52, in July.

Emergency services were called to Mrs Powell's home in Charles Thomas Avenue at around 3.59am on July 17th.

Mrs Powell had been attacked and sustained several knife wounds, she was taken to Withybush Hospital by ambulance.

Bull De'ath was subsequently found in a field near to the house, he also had knife wounds and was conveyed to hospital.

Judge Morton said he would not sentence Bull-De'ath, aged 50, until a psychiatrist had examined him and prepared a report as to his state of mental health.

The court was told that that process could take six weeks. Judge Morton will be told on September 21st when the report will be ready.

Bull-De'ath was remanded in custody until the sentencing hearing which will take place towards the end of October.
