TENBY's south beach was the scene of a rescue by emergency services today, with the Wales Air Ambulance landing on the sand to take an injured person to hospital.

Tenby's coastguard rescue team said they were paged at 12.27pm today to help the Welsh Ambulance Trust with a casualty on south beach in Tenby.

On arriving at the beach, the coastguard set up a helicopter landing site for Welsh Air Ambulance to land to assist with the casualty.

The inured person was assessed and treated at scene and then flown by helicopter to University Hospital Wales for further treatment.
