Family, friends, Pembroke Dock Town Council and the Royal Engineers Association are all mourning the loss of community member Edward Ted' Hissey, who passed away recently.
Mr Hissey, aged 75, died at Withybush Hospital on Friday, November 16th after a long illness and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Pembroke Dock's town clerk, Ian Jones, said: "Ted was a very contentious member of the town council and will certainly be sadly missed.
"The last meeting he attended was the budget meeting on October 25th and although he was suffering, he still came along and contributed to the meeting. It is very sad he has gone from us."
Mr Hissey had lived in Pennar for 16 years and was elected to the town council in March last year.
Since moving to Pennar, after his retirement from the building industry, Mr Hissey was an active member of the Pennar and Bufferland Community Association and was vice-chair of the St Patrick's Community Hall Committee.
Town councillor, also for Pennar, and trustee of the St Patrick's Community Hall Association, Carolyn Fortune, said: "He was such a lovely, kind gentleman, a real gentleman, who always had the interests of Pennar at heart and especially St Patrick's.
"He was still coming to meetings and bingo, right to the end and he always supported us. He was just a real gentleman."
Mr Hissey was a member of the Pembroke Dock British Legion and secretary of the Royal Engineers Association or Sappers, which did a large amount of work within the community.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, with a service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium at 1.45pm.
