Houses evacuated in gas scare

11:03am Monday 10th December 2007

Four houses at Pembroke Dock's Monroe Court were evacuated by police on Saturday, following reports of a gas leak.

Police evacuated the premises at 4pm on the advice of the gas board. Fire crews attended the scene and were on stand-by until representatives for Wales and West utilities arrived. The fire service said that the gas was not leaking inside the houses but rather from a pipe on the street outside.

Police say that the occupants of the houses were evacuated until 9pm that evening.
