Nearly 1,200 drivers in Pembrokeshire have already been breathalysed in this year's Christmas drink driving campaign.
Officers have been out throughout the county educating motorists about the dangers and consequences of drink driving.
1,171 drivers have been breathalysed but only 26 have been arrested for being over the legal drink drive limit, which is 2.2.per cent.
There has also only been one road traffic collision involving a driver being above the legal limit.
Inspector Gareth Thomas, of Pembrokeshire's Roads Policing Unit, said: "I hope these figures reflect that the drink drive message is getting through.
"We are targeting motorists throughout the county so if you drink and drive you are not only risking yours and other lives but also your licence.
"Drink driving is unacceptable at anytime of year and we are constantly targeting motorists, if you know someone who is breaking the law then we urge you to call the road policing unit on 0845 330 2000 - your call could save a life."
