Tenby's round the world runner Rosie Swales Pope has postponed her return date to her home town.
Rosie, who left Tenby on her 57th birthday in October 2003, announced on her 61st birthday last October that she planned to run back into Tenby on June 1st 2007.
Logistic problems mean that the tenacious jogging grandmother can no longer guarantee her return on that date.
Rosie spent Christmas and the New Year running through the wilds of Canada, refusing offers of festive hospitality from well wishers in order to stay on schedule.
She will run to the across Nova Scotia to the easternmost point of Newfoundland, St Johns. From there the round the world runner needs to get to Greenland. Arranging this part of the trip has taken longer than expected and has meant that she can no longer be sure of her return date in Tenby.
"I can no longer guarantee that I'll be in Tenby by June 1st," said Rosie. "I WILL be there as soon as possible after this as I can.
"The trouble has been that arranging Greenland and sorting all the logistics from here on has taken longer than expected. It will work, but takes time."
Rosie is still searching for the quickest way to Greenland and is hoping that she may be able to join a freight ship or ice breaker going directly from Canada to Greenland.
This will save her backtracking to Boston and then flying from there to Greenland via Iceland which at the moment looks to be the only route.
Rosie is convinced that with a little help from her friends she will overcome these latest obstacles as well as the challenges the last part of her journey puts in front of her.
"I have some helpful people working on this for me. It's going to be cold and quite dangerous ahead. I am determined to be careful, and succeed," she said.
As for her return to her hometown, Rosie has declared that getting back without ceremony won't matter.
"I love Tenby," she said. "Tenby doesn't have to have a party for me when I do get back -Tenby is a party!"
