Schoolgirl's death shocks town

The sudden death of a young girl from Neyland has shocked the community.

Rhiannon Mills, aged 12, of Sydney Webb Close, died suddenly last Sunday evening.

Her parents, Dean and Natalie Mills, said: "Rhiannon loved cooking, reading, computers, listening to music and going out with her friends. She was a very bright girl and always had high marks in her schoolwork." Rhiannon had two younger brothers, Rhys and Arran.

Rhiannon's headteacher at Thomas Picton school, Joan Bessant, paid tribute to Rhiannon.

She said: "Rhiannon was a delightful child in all respects; a popular pupil she was thoroughly enjoying school and doing very well.

"She was a valued and trusted friend, who had a well-placed sense of humour and was genuinely well-liked by her peers.

"We are all, at this time, thinking of her family, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.

"We know that among staff and pupils Rhiannon will never be forgotten."

Rhiannon's death was the third tragic loss in Neyland in recent weeks.

The funeral of mother-of-four, Nina Buck, aged 42 took place recently, after she died suddenly at home at Poppy Drive, on January 11th.

Well-known mum-of-three Stephanie Smith, of Cleddau Close, died on January 24th, aged 32.

Rhiannon's funeral will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 7th at Parc Gwyn.

The arrangements have been made by Tom Newing and Sons funeral directors, Milford Haven.

Neyland mayor, councillor Hilary Richards, was shocked by another sad loss for the community.

"I would like to send my sincere condolences to all three families.

"Parents and residents are worried for the children of Neyland, who have had to deal with three deaths in three weeks. It is really very sad," said Cllr Richards.
