A driver caught without her seatbelt who elected for a court appearance over an on the spot fine paid dearly for her choice today (Thursday).
Louise Hallett, of 33 Elizabeth Court, Pembroke Dock was stopped by police on the morning of October 11th 2007.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard Jones told the court that Hallett, aged 24, clearly was not wearing her seatbelt. She was issued with a fixed penalty notice for £30 but said she wanted to go to court.
Today she pleaded guilty by letter and was ordered to pay a total of £115,a fine of £40, £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge, nearly four times the fixed penalty notice.
