Record breaking chart toppers McFly will wow the crowds at Oakwood Theme Park on July 19th this summer.

Following the success of last year's Girls Aloud concert Pembrokeshire pop promoters Mint have booked the boy band to continue Pop Park, a unique concept which gives gig go-ers the chance to see top UK artists in concert and go on all the rides at the theme park.

McFly who have had seven UK number ones and a total of 13 top ten singles agreed to headline the theme park concert after meeting Mint's Aaron Kirkhouse and 20-year-old Alex Darlington.

"Last year we did the show with Girls Aloud and it was an amazing success," said 19-year-old Aaron. "For Pop Park '08 we have the McFly boys on board and it's going to be even bigger!"

This year Pop Park have teamed up with social networking website Bebo to bring fans VIP competitions, ticket give-aways and exclusive McFly blogs.

"There really hasn't been anything quite like this before," said Alex.

"Working with Bebo has enabled us to create an interactive pre-show experience, for the millions using the social networking site every day."

Since the Bebo site was launched last week hundreds of McFly fans have signed up as friends, sharing their excitement and hoping to win a chance to meet their heroes.

Tickets for Pop Park will go on sale at 8am on March 19th at bebo.com/poppark.

Whoop-de-doo, McFly are coming to Pembrokeshire! Good news for the under 15's amongst us I suppose.......hey, maybe they could donate their appearance fee to those 35 people who face a bleak future after being made redundant at Prestige Training Ltd, Neyland.

Hells Bells.
I knew McFly were influential but I wasn't aware they could make people redundant.
This would never have happened with Busted. Come back Charlie....all is forgiven.

Although I've disagreed with many of your postings in the past, I was surprised and a little suspicious of the earlier postings attributed to your good self. I hope that these deceptive rantings are removed from this site immediately.

Good on yuh Mint - let's hope you the gig makes you 'Minted'! Ha - ha. Great to see some young entrepreneurs making their mark on the music scene, more power to you.
What about someone for us oldies though, who still like to mosh but need a stick to do it?
Someone like Shakin Stevens!

Reg,
I would like to thank the WT (Becky in particular) for acting so swiftly at removing the 2 offending comments that purported to come from me. I am also flattered that my comments are so worthy, that someone has to impersonate me.
Its exposed a flaw in the system that the WT are now investigating.
I am quite happy to stand by my own views, whether they are controversial or not, without someone doing it for me and misleading you all.
My own view on this issue is that when McFly come to Pembs, I will be washing my hair and then watching the fridge light go on and off...
Now, if Amy McDonald was coming .... my hair would have to wait and I would be 1st in the queue.
I must go and see if there are any other spurious comments made in my name!

Ok, let's get back to reality, I'll vote for any County Councillor who can get Frank Sinatra & Elvis to perform at Oakwood.

Is Jesus Christ standing? It'll take a miracle to get those 2, back to life.
If you want some controversy, go and look at my piece on AM's payrises...

Mint gigs have my utmost respect as i know how difficult it is to get acts to travel beyond Swansea. most dont know there is anything passed carmarthen! Anyway, god job guys on getting McFly - but for you oldies - keep an eye out this year as we've got some of the best tribute acts in the UK coming to a venue near you. ABBA/ELVIS/FRANK & DEAN/QUEEN just to name a few.

What an achievement by Aaron & Alex getting McFly to come to Pembrokeshire. McFly ar not just a boy band, but talented guitar players, excellent song writers, hard working musicians. I have had the good fortune to see them live and I have to say they were excellent. If you can go you will not be disappointed.

Well I, for one, I thrilled McFly are coming to Pembrokeshire, and anyone who posts smarta**e remarks here belittling anyone who is looking forward to this event is just highlighting their own small-mindedness. No-one is asking you to be a fan, but - and here's a novel suggestion for you - live and let live. What kind of a world would we live in if everyone had to subscribe to a particular point of view, yet that's what the majority of posters here want. If you don't agree with their very narrow views then they'll attempt to publicly humilate you. Agree with us or face our scorn, seems to be their creed. How big and how very clever.
