A hedgehog nicknamed Houdini for its escape artist behaviour has been found and returned safely home.

The blind hedgehog was reported missing and roaming the streets of Pembroke yesterday (Tuesday).

She had been adopted from the hedgehog hospital by Jude Sinclair and re-homed in Jude's safe and secure garden.

She was found yesterday evening a quarter of a mile from Jude's home, near to the Bush Hill garage by one of Jude's near neighbours.

As a blind hedgehog she was very vulnerable, not knowing night from day and often wandering round in circles.

"I was really worried about her," said Jude. "She doesn't stand a chance in the wild. It's definitely a relief that she has been found.

"I don't know how she managed to get that far down the road.

Harriet / Houdini is now under constant surveillance in her new home, as Jude and her family try to find out her escape route.
