Young entrepreneurs urged to sign up

All over Pembrokeshire, young entrepreneurs are beavering away preparing for the first Pembrokeshire Enterprise Fair.

This exciting event takes place on Friday 27th June and Saturday 28th June in the Riverside Shopping Area, Haverfordwest 10am-2.45pm.

This initiative is designed to encourage young people to plan and run a business enterprise for real. During the Fair, mini-companies from a number of Pembrokeshire schools, clubs and youth groups will all participate. Infant groups, business clubs and companies from primary and secondary schools, clubs and groups who normally meet outside school hours and a couple of young would-be entrepreneurs in their early twenties, will all be participating. And everyone will be working hard to sell a range of creative and imaginative goods and services.

Participating groups will have taken responsibility for developing their idea, marketing their product, and managing money for real. Many have formed business partnerships with real companies for guidance and support. Profits from the event go back to the schools or clubs and will be used to further resource similar creative activities.

This event is jointly promoted by Pembrokeshire County Council Education and Economic Development Departments and Careers Wales West. Sponsorship has been secured from Magstim, PBI and the Western Telegraph. Business awards will be made to recognise entrepreneurial skills, and certificates will be given to all participating young peoples' enterprise companies to celebrate what will have been an outstanding achievement.

Members of the public and local business representatives are urged to come along, join in the fun and marvel at what our youngest entrepreneurs can do!
