Badminton club’s not so cock-sure

A badminton club may have to start conceding matches unless it can recruit lady players for a doubles league.

Three of the Orpington Badminton Clubs players are sidelined with injuries and reserve replacements would be welcome.

The club meets for practice every Friday evening from 8pm at the Darrick Wood School Sports Centre in Lovibonds Avenue.

Secretary Gail Isted said: "This is our first season in the doubles league, and we have been extremely unlucky with injuries. If any ladies are interested in joining, they can come down to Darrick Wood on a Friday and have a free trial, but we are only interested in experienced players."
