RECORD rainfall has put a huge pressure on the Pembrokeshire Hogspital and it needs volunteer helpers.

The bad weather conditions are severely affecting the possibility of releasing any of the 16 patients, says hospital owner, Beryl Steadman.

Of those patients, 12 arrived as two-week-old babies and need feeds every two to six hours.

“Having survived that very confusing and tiring time, we had some casualties who need careful monitoring and medicating,’’ says Beryl. She needs help to clean the pens for about an hour in the mornings.

Any potential hedgehog helpers can contact Beryl on 01437 779461.

Pembrokeshire Hogspital will feature on S4C’s Byw yn yr Ardd, at 8.25pm on September 4th.
