A 72-year-old holiday maker, who was running around on the beach in Tenby yesterday afternoon (Thursday), was airlifted to Withybush Hospital after taking a tumble.
The man tripped and fell on the beach, cutting his leg and possibly fracturing an elbow.
Coastguards from Tenby and Manorbier, as well as the beach lifeguards, cleared a space on the sand for the air ambulance to land.
The man, was then taken to hospital by helicopter.
The air ambulance was then tasked to Pwll Gwaelod, near Dinas, where a 68-year-old local woman had fallen after being knocked down by a dog on the beach.
Coastguards from Fishguard, along with the Preseli sector manager, battled against the incoming tide to evacuate the woman, who had a suspected broken hip, from the beach.
The air ambulance landed in a nearby field but the woman declined to travel in it. A land ambulance was tasked to the scene and the woman taken to Withybush Hospital.
