Indicators say council could do better

Could do better was the outcome of Pembrokeshire County Council's latest progress report in the National Strategic Indicators stakes.

Out of 22 performance indicators measured, 13 were identified as needing to be addressed, ten of them being below the Welsh average and six showing a decline in performance between June 2007 and July 2008.

'We look for further improvements," said Leader John Davies when the figures were reported to Cabinet yesterday (Monday).

Members were told that 71% had improved over last year and 12% had remained the same. In comparison, last year 60% improved while 27% remained the same.

It was reported that many of the issues were either being addressed or had since improved.

Funny, when he was laying the ground for huge increases in next year's council tax he had a HELL of a lot more to say for himself......

Council gets criticised and the Leader has suddenly gone all shy on us.
