Enter your brilliant tourism business

1:30pm Saturday 15th November 2008

Don’t be left out of the fantastic Pembrokeshire Tourism Annual Awards for 2009.

Celebrating the achievements of Pembrokeshire’s largest domestic industry, last year’s inaugural event attracted over 230 people to a glittering awards evening. The awards are open to everyone and continue to reward and celebrate all that is special about Pembrokeshire and the best aspects of tourism.

Nick Evans, chairman of Pembrokeshire Tourism said: “In my opinion it is vital that others are inspired by those who can demonstrate a new technique, a successful marketing plan, a more efficient business operating system or simply an excellence beyond the call of duty in service levels and devotion to the task in hand.”

Last year’s event attracted guests from all over the county, a range of sponsors and key players within the tourism industry.

Alison Belton, chief executive of Pembrokeshire Tourism said: “Our members still talk about the inaugural event, and this year we will undoubtedly attract even more entries to celebrate the success of our hardworking tourism operators.

However, equally important are those businesses supplying operators with their vital services and products. That’s why we’ve introduced a new category for our 100 supplier members based on excellence in customer service – going that extra mile.”

The awards won’t be judged on size or turnover as everyone has an equal chance of becoming a finalist or even winning a category.

Winner of last year’s finest Pembrokeshire breakfast category, Alyson and John Everett, of five-star Stoney Bridge commented: “Winning this category after being in business for only a year gave us a great morale boost. To receive a reward from within the industry was particularly satisfying confirming that we were on the right track and that the philosophy behind our business is the right one. Publicity generated by the awards has certainly contributed to our business success giving us greater exposure to more potential customers.”

Alison added: “Entering is a great chance to get your business seen and truly rewarded for its achievements.”

The black-tie gala evening will be held on Friday, March 27th at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, where an evening of spectacular entertainment will be accompanied by a four-course meal of outstanding Pembrokeshire produce.
