Win your mum a family holiday with Newsquest, Netmums and siblu holidays

Do you know a marvellous mum? Are you one yourself? Here's your chance to nominate either yourself or a role-model mother you know for the Newsquest / Netmums Mum of the Year competition.

Each regional mum of the year will win a fabulous French holiday to take in 2009 and will go forward to the UK final.

The Mum of the Year award has been created to recognise the hard work of mums who juggle many commitments and still find time to help others. We want you to let us know if you know Wales' most inspiring mother.

The award, created in partnership with parenting website Netmums and siblu holidays, will help to highlight many of the extra activities undertaken by mums to support their local community.

Nominations close on December 12th, after which a panel of judges will review every entry and choose Wales' Mum of the Year.

The UK's 12 regional winners will be chosen in January and they will each win a family holiday to France with siblu holidays, to be taken at a choice of outstanding holiday parks in 2009.

In February regional winners from across the UK will then go forward to a vote to find the nation’s Mum of the Year.

Siobhan Freegard, who co-founded Netmums while raising her own family, said: “In many ways, the work mums do in our communities is the foundation of our whole society. But because it isn't seen as having a commercial value, our effort is often left unrecognised by the real world.

“The idea for Mum of the Year was born from frustration at the celebrity version of this award, which rewards style over substance. If you know a mum who is a real role model and who inspires those around them, we want to hear from you.”
