More colleagues of Barbara Knights have voiced their messages of grief and condolence at the death of the "selfless and irreplaceable" cleaner who had worked at the Dragon LNG site since the beginning of the project.

Mrs Knights, died from injuries sustained in a three car crash on the A40 near Llanddewi Velfrey on Sunday afternoon.

Her Toyota Yarris was travelling in the eastbound direction when it crashed.

She was cut free from her car and airlifted to hospital following the collision near Parc y Lan Inn at around 1.39pm on November 23rd. She later died from her injuries in Morriston Hospital.

Colleagues at Whessoe Volker Stevin said Mrs Knights' inspirational energy, winning smile, natural warmth and sense of humour made a lasting impression on all who worked with her.

"We at Whessoe Volker Stevin were deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Babs over the weekend," said a spokesman for the company.

"Babs and her family have worked on the project since the beginning and did a magnificent job of keeping our offices in pristine condition.

"Babs has touched so many hearts along the way with her warm nature, infectious smile, incredible energy and light-hearted attitude.

"Her laugh and sincere kindness are just a few of her many attributes which will be greatly missed by all who knew her on site. Babs offered a personal touch to us all, she truly was what we call 'The People's Nan'.

"Babs' love for baking and knitting to enhance funds raised at her famous and successful coffee mornings were one of her many selfless passions and made her irreplaceable.

"All of us at WVS hold a place in our hearts for Babs and offer our sincere heartfelt condolences to all the family. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time."

Dyfed-Powys police continue to investigate the accident and are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a fourth vehicle, which was being overtaken at the time of the accident but not directly involved in the crash.

They are asking any witnesses to contact PC 1049 Griffiths at the roads policing unit at Haverfordwest Police Station on 0845 330 2000.
