Pembrokeshire singing sensation Connie Fisher returns to her childhood home of Haverfordwest today (Thursday) to sign copies of her new CD `Secret Love’.

Connie will be at Haverfordwest's Tesco Extra store from 4pm to 6pm to sign autographs and copies of what she considers to be her "first proper album", Secret Love.

Haverfordwest's Tesco store was one the venues that campaigned for Connie during her time on BBC reality talent show How do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?

Connie won the hearts of the British public and the role of Maria, which she performed at the London Palladium for 15 months. She is looking forward to saying a big "thank you" to all the fans who supported her during the competition who came to see her in The Sound of Music.

Connie devoted a serious chunk of 2008 to recording `Secret Love’, she had complete creative control over the album she has chosen 11 of her favourite stage and film tunes including `I Could Have Danced All Night’, `True Love Always’ and `I Guess I’ll Miss the Man’ giving them a smoky, bluesy twist that makes them completely different from the original versions.

“Eva Cassidy has been a big inspiration for this album," said Connie. "She made songs her own and I wanted to give the songs on the Secret Love album that thoughtful, wistful feeling.”

Connie also wanted to make a record other young people will want to listen to.

"It was important to me to make a musical theatre album for younger people," she said. "I wanted to take classic songs and make them sparky and cool.”

As part of the promotional tour for the album Connie has made it a priority to come back to the place where her love of music began. She is looking forward to meeting old friends and some new ones too.

“We are delighted to have Connie Fisher visiting the Tesco Extra store here in Haverfordwest<" said store manager Michael Last.

"The staff and customers have always been huge supporters and now great fans of her work. “We are thrilled to be amongst the first people to hold a signing event following the release of Secret Love."
