The headteacher of Sir Thomas Picton School, Joan Bessant, has paid tribute to teenager Sarah Thomas, whose sudden death has shaken the school community.
Sixteen-year-old Sarah, from the Letterston area, died suddenly last Wednesday.
"It is with great sadness that the school received the news of Sarah’s death," said Mrs Bessant.
"She was a highly respected, popular and much loved member of her year group who totally involved herself in a wide range of sporting activities, indeed, she had only this week been part of an Under 16’s Hockey Squad who became Welsh Champions.
"Her talents and achievements were many. She worked hard and she brought a lovely, well placed sense of humour to her lessons.
"She will be greatly missed, yet never forgotten.
"Our thoughts are with the family, to whom the sympathy of staff and pupils is extended."
