Johnston man denies rape and attempted rape

A Johnston man appeared before a crown court judge on Friday to deny charges of rape and attempted rape.

Trevor Patrick McLoughlin, aged 31, of Greenhall Park, denied raping a girl between January 1st, 2008 and September 15th, 2008, and to indulging in sexual activity with a child between the same dates.

McLoughlin also denied attempted rape between September 15th, 2008 and December 31st, and a second charge of sexual activity with a child.

Patrick Griffiths, prosecuting, told Swansea crown court a trial would be necessary.

Judge Huw Davies fixed July 6th as the start date.

  McLoughlin was remanded in custody.
