Pembrokshire singing sensation and West End favourite, Connie Fisher, stars on S4C's Shân Cothi show this weekend.

On the music and entertainment show, airing Sunday, May 3rd at 9.00pm, Connie performs a number of songs, including a Welsh translation of the Judy Garland classic, Over the Rainbow.

She also talks about how she met her musical idol, Julie Andrews. She shared a special special lunch with the original Sound of Music star.

“I met Julie Andrews in New York, and we went for lunch,” says Connie. “She’s so elegant and beautiful - it was amazing to meet such an icon.”

In the programme, recorded just before Connie flew to the USA for specialist treatment on her vocal chords, Connie also chats with Shân about life after winning the BBC talent show, How Do you Solve a Problem like Maria?

She also talks about her new album, Secret Love, released in February, which includes a song written especially for her by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Also on the programme, John Owen Jones, star of Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, sings the romantic duet ‘Tonight’ from West Side Story with Shân. Singer and performer Caryl Parry Jones will also sing a magical version of the traditional Irish song ‘Danny Boy’ with her new vocal harmony group the ‘4 o 5’s’.
