The world's largest LNG super tanker, the Mozah, is due to arrive at Milford Haven's South Hook LNG terminal tomorrow (Thursday).

The Korean built ship is named after the Emir of Qatar's wife , Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned.

The vessel measures 345 long, is nearly 54 metres wide and 34.7metres high. She can carry 266,000 cubic metres of LNG, that’s enough to heat every home in the UK , 26 million homes, for one day.

A spokesman for South Hook LNG said that the Qatargas Q Max LNG carrier is designed, built and operated to the highest safety standards and incorporates the latest technology.

Following noise problems with the first LNG carrier to arrive in the Haven, the Tembek South Hook LNG said that they will continue to monitor the situation and are asking the local community to contact them with noise concerns.

The last LNG tanker in the Haven was the Al Oraiq.

"We are liaising with the ship operators in relation to any sounds that may emanate from the ship," said a spokesman for the company.

"We are delighted to have received several confirmations from our local communities that the Al Oraiq (the second LNG Carrier) had no noise issues whilst she was at South Hook.

We will continue to do everything we can to minimise any impact from our activities upon our local community. Our neighbours are very important to us and their concerns are, and will continue to be taken very seriously.

We ask that concerned residents contact us either by e-mail or phone. We will respond where possible to all their calls and where possible we will put measures in place to address their concerns. If you have any concerns please contact South Hook on 01437 782012 or email publicinfo@southhooklng.com
