Local businesses are being warned not to pass over their bank details to phone fraudsters pretending to be involved with the police.
Bogus telephone calls are being made from a man calling from a Pembrokeshire landline and pretending to sell advertising space for a police publication.
The man asks businesses to buy subscription and advertising space and then asks for bank details so that he can take payment over the phone.
"Please do not provide payment details over the phone to any body when the circumstances sound remotely suspicious," said PC 981 Emma Charlett of Dyfed-Powys police.
Anybody who receives this kind of phone call should report it to Dyfed-Powys police on 101.
