The memorial cricket match which began two years ago in memory of a Pembroke man is continuing to make dreams come true tomorrow (Sunday).

Friends of Dean ‘Bevsy’ Evans first set up the event at Stackpole and Bosherston Cricket Club as a way of remembering happy times with the popular sportsman, a year after his murder.

They raised an impressive sum of money for the intensive care unit at Withybush Hospital.

Last year, money was raised to help Milford Haven youngster Emily Jones, who suffers from a rare illness, achieve her dream of seeing the British Grand Prix live at Silverstone.

This year, organisers are fundraising to construct a dream play zone at the home of two sisters in Fishguard. Molly Griffiths, aged five, and two-year-old Emily Griffiths, suffer from RETT Syndrome.

The Dean Evans memorial cricket match will take place from 1pm tomorrow. It will include a bar, barbecue, auction, raffle, and helium balloons to send messages for Dean. There will also be a gladiator podium and bouncy castle, a cake stall and and ice cream van.
