A judge heard yesterday (Wednesday) how a restaurant owner from set out to trap a woman so he could sexually assault her.

Abdul Rahim, aged 35, hid the woman's mobile telephone in an office drawer and then waited for her to begin looking for it.

Then he pounced on her, forced her against a table and put his hand up her skirt.

Rahim, of Dewsland Street, had denied sexual assault but a jury found him guilty.

Judge John Diehl, sitting at Swansea crown court, said he understood Rahim still did not accept the jury's verdict, but that was another indication that Rahim was not willing to take responsibility for what he had done.

He said the offence did not call for an immediate custodial sentence and placed Rahim under supervision for three years, with a requirement to attend a sex offenders work group programme.

Judge Diehl warned Rahim the programme might prove to be "inconvenient or embarrassing" but he should remember that prison was an alternative.

"If you fall down on this we will meet again," he added.

Rahim was also ordered to register with the police as a sex offender for the next five years.
