Celtic Blue Rock music festival AGM and Big Gig at the Queen’s Hall, Narberth


Pembrokeshire's premier summer festival gets going tonight (Thursday) with an AGM, a gig packed with local talent and the launch of bargain early bird tickets.

The community owned Celtic Blue Rock festival is holding its annual Big Gig event, including its AGM, at the Queen’s Hall in Narberth.

All are welcome to the AGM, which starts at 6.30pm. It is followed by a sneak preview of next year's festival when some of the county's freshest talent will take to the stage.

The best of the festival gig features Jedi Sound System; the multi-talented Mike Chant and his band; Pembrokeshire battle of the band winners the Lovley Somethings; DJs Shanna and Micky Fingers spinning their funky stuff and Livin in a Valve State.

The 2010 festival early bird tickets will also go on sale tonight. The usual ticket price for the three day, 10,000 capacity, family festival is £40.

However, the early bird tickets, available until the end end December, are only £30, a discount of 25%.

"The response to early bird tickets last year was fantastic," said the festival organisers. "With people across the county purchasing their early bird special offer as novel Christmas gifts for people who have everything.

The 2010 festival will take place from August 6th to the 8th . It promises to be jam- packed with bands, kids workshops, a green eco field, traders and cafes, crafts area and much more.
