Narberth Primary School has won a top Welsh food hygiene award.
The school is the second in Pembrokeshire to achieve a gold standard award, which was recently presented to catering staff by Councillor Huw George, cabinet member for children and young people.
Pembrokeshire’s school kitchens are inspected annually by environmental health inspectors to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
Visits are unannounced and premises can be awarded bronze, silver or gold awards – provided they reach a sufficient standard.
To achieve a gold award, the food premises must have an exceptional standard of hygiene and an extensive food safety management system in place.
Saundersfoot Primary School was the first in the county to win a gold award.
