Pembroke Power Station petition handed over to MP Nick Ainger

A petition campaigning for more jobs for British people at Pembroke Power Station was delivered to local MP Nick Ainger at Pembroke Town Hall today (Friday).

Over 4000 people signed the petition some via the online Facebook group 'Give the British jobs first @ Pembroke Power Station'.

Janette Leonard said: "The statement Alstom made earlier in the week was shocking. I think that let the cat out of the bag. It has always been my fear that local people are being overlooked."

Mrs Jones of Solva, said: "My husband may have to go to Hull to get work. He's trying to get local employment but he's been made redundant twice in the last year. Every family by choice should be able to live together."

MP for South Pembrokeshire, Nick Ainger, said: "I will be delivering whatever the message of the petition is to Alstom. "I've already said that subcontractors needed to improve recruitment and advertisement."
