Pembrokeshire Rugby - Division One Fleur De Lys 10 Whitland 28 Fly half Aled Davies grabbed two tries for the second week in succession to help steer Whitland to a deserved win at Fleur de Lys.

The Borderers held a narrow 13-10 interval lead but always held the edge after the break as Romeo Colella and Randall Williams led the pack well, ably assisted by John Bowen and Johnny Koloi.

Davies opened the Borderers' account with a penalty after home kicker Brett Green had missed two penalties in the first four minutes - and he finished with 23 points to go with the 21 he had amassed the previous week.

Young centre Matthew Hughes grabbed an interception on half way and sped 50 metres for a try which Davies duly goaled after 15 minutes but Fleur De Lys showed their determination soon afterwards when veteran winger Romilly Barnett dashed through for a try which Green converted.

The Borderers tightened things up at the back, though, as Gavin Morris, Jack Tremlett and Will Davies covered well, with Lee Glanville and Matthew Hughes bottling up the middle with the considerable assistance of their back row. Davies landed his second penalty after 38 minutes before Green responded on half-time to mak e the interval score 13-10 in the Borderers' favour.

Good work up front by Ben Armstrong, Iwan Davies, Aled Harries and Richard Smith ensured the Borderers maintained their level of possession after the interval and a good period of pressure involving Randall Williams allowed Gareth Davies to put Aled Davies in from close range.

Aled Davies missed the conversion but grabbed another ten points before the final whistle, starting with a lovely break and run to the posts, followed by the simple conversion and another penalty near the end which secured a good win for Whitland that was fitting reward for an excellent all-round display by Domenico Setaro's squad.
