Fishguard’s new look Co-operative supermarket opens today (Thursday) creating ten new jobs for the town.
The former Somerfield store was closed last week while it was being converted into the new Co-operative.
The conversion follows the Co-operative Group’s £1.56 billion acquisition of the Somerfield chain last year.
The company said the change would bring a new era in food shopping to the local community, while the ten new jobs will take staff numbers to 55.
Store manager Louise Hughes said: "We are proud to serve the local community and this investment means we can now provide a much enhanced service."
The Co-operative’s west Wales area committee is supporting Fishguard International Music Festival by sponsoring a concert by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at Ysgol Bro Gwaun next Saturday, July 31st
