A close friend of Daniel Rogers, who died following a car accident earlier this month, has said he will be greatly missed and will be remembered most for his smile.

Ryan Thomas has paid tribute to the 22-year-old, who died on August 3rd following a collision involving a Citroen Saxo on the A487 at Keeston Hill.

Daniel (pictured), of Keeston, formerly of St Davids and an ex-pupil of Ysgol Dewi Sant, was on an apprenticeship with Solva electrician Tom Lavin, attending Pembrokeshire College one day a week.

Ryan said: “Dan was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and he couldn’t do enough for his friends.

“He was caring, hard-working, loved to socialise and was extremely generous and kind.”

The emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at 12.50am on Sunday, August 1st with two casualties taken to Withybush Hospital, one having to be released from the vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment.

His death was confirmed shortly after the Western Telegraph went to press last week.

Dan was son to Paul and May Rogers and brother to Sian.

Mourners filled St David’s Cathedral for his funeral on Friday afternoon.

Tributes on a Facebook group titled ‘RIP Dan ‘Shiney’ Rogers’ continue to be posted.

Yan Koob said: “What a loss of a great lad. Dan will be missed by everyone who met him.”

Claudine Hayward posted: “Always such a smiley face, I’m sure you’re shining down at all of us now.”

Sara John posted: “You were such a lovely guy, you’ll be greatly missed and never forgotten, you didn’t deserve to be taken so soon – some angels are just too precious to stay.”

The other casualty involved in the accident, Alex Williams, also of Keeston, is understood to have been released from hospital.

Ryan added: “Dan will be remembered most for his smile because he was always smiling. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.”
