Pembroke Power Station site evacuated following "small fire"

Pembroke Power Station was evacuated this morning (Monday) following a fire caused by debris from temporary equipment, during commissioning works.

An RWE npower spokesman said emergency services were called to the scene as a precaution, confirming that there were no injuries and no damage to permanent equipment.

The statement said: "During the course of normal commissioning activities taking place on the Pembroke Power Station site this morning, debris from a temporary silencer resulted in a small fire which was successfully extinguished.

"Work is expected to resume later today."
