A man, who trashed over £2,000 worth of DJ equipment at Eddies nightclub in Haverfordwest,is due to be sentenced at Haverfordwest magistrates court today (Tuesday).
Joe Alexander O’Boyle, aged 28, of Priory Court, Haverfordwest, has already admitted causing £2,391 worth of damage when he jumped at the DJ booth and upturned the equipment on New Year’s Eve.
Earlier this month the court heard that O’Boyle went on the rampage when he found out that his ex-girlfriend was in a relationship with the DJ.
Mark Layton, defending at the hearing on February 7th, said: “He did not realise that the DJ was only responsible for playing the music, and the equipment belonged to the proprietor of Eddies.”
He added that at a previous hearing, which was adjourned to get compensation figures, magistrates considered imposing a low level, or community based sentence.
“I take a different view,” said Judge Manning-Davies. “He does not have clean hands as far as criminal damage is concerned.”
Judge Manning-Davies adjourned sentencing until today.
