Hywel Dda Health Board spent more than £1.3million on the salaries of its top executives in the 2010/11 financial year, figures in its Annual Report show.
The report includes the salaries of its senior managers in bands of £5,000 with Chief Executive Trevor Purt top of the high earners with the sum of £170,000-£175,000, which he earned on top of as much as £9800 of benefits in kind.
Eight of the health board's executive directors' salaries topped £110,000 in this period while Chairman Chris Martin was the highest earning non officer member with a £55,000-£60,000 salary.
Joint Medical Director Simon Mahon is one of three who earned £120,000-£125,000, although he also received £30,000-£35,000 from other remuneration.
The report says the top directors salaries are based on a "Very Senior Manager payscale", which was introduced by the National Assembly for Wales.
It also says pay awards for executive directors "are determined nationally and applied locally upon receipt of instructions from the Assembly."
