Tenby museum exhibit sparks bomb squad response

3:24pm Wednesday 14th March 2012

A 'chemical explosive' discovered in an exhibit at Tenby Museum sparked a response from an army bomb disposal unit this afternoon (Wednesday).

It is understood that a routine check of the museum's exhibits discovered a leather pouch of about four inches square.

It was marked 'Property of the Home Office' and 'Dangerous Chemicals'.

It also said: "Anyone finding this case should take it at once without opening to the nearest police station.

"If there is any pronounced smell from the case it should be kept in the open air."

The item was taken away by the Royal Logistics Corp Bomb Disposal Unit from Gloucester.
