1:20pm Monday 26th March 2012

Members of the public are being asked to help Haverfordwest police in their search for a missing meerkat.

The two-and-a-half foot tall wooden carving, along with the plinth it was based on, was taken from Richmond Crescent between March 18th and 7am last Saturday, March 24th.

Police say it was a very distinctive hand-carved ornament with black markings on its ears and nose and a head facing to one side.

Police are asking anybody with information about the meerkat’s whereabouts to get in touch with PC751 Williams on 101. They are also urged to mark valuable garden ornaments with a postcode or other identifiable marking.
