China display celebrates jubilee

A commemorative china display is being held at Little Newcastle during this May Day Bank Holiday .

The village is marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by holding a major exhibition at St Peter’s Church which ends this evening (Monday).

This is believed to be the first time this type of event has been staged by a community in Wales.

Around 300 pieces of ceramic will be on show, tracing the history of the reign from the Coronation in 1953 to the Diamond Jubilee this year.

The exhibition will be open 10.30am to 8pm, with refreshments available in the village hall.

Admission is free, but donations towards the village fund will be welcomed.
