1:30pm Friday 11th May 2012 in News
Six Teifi Valley women plan to take part in London’s Moonwalk tomorrow (Saturday) to raise money for cancer research.
Heather Venables Randall, Tracy Louise Morgan, Gwyneth Jones, Julia Den Hartog, Karren Roberts and Julie Evans will take part in the event.
The moonwalk is in its 15th year and more than 25,000 women dress up in their bras at midnight to walk 26.2 miles through London, finishing on the Sunday morning, at Hyde Park.
Gwyneth Jones and Julia Den Hartog said: “This is our second moonwalk. We have been inspired by some close friends who have undergone successful treatments and are with us today.
This is a marathon of 26.2 miles, but we are so looking forward to the event and walking with a great bunch of girls.”
Tracy added: “I am doing it in memory of my dad Mick Nightingale and father-inlaw Gil Morgan as well on behalf of family friends and people who cannot complete it themselves due to disability or illness.
“We have followed the walk the walk training programme since January, so we are confident we are in good shape.”
