Excitement is building ahead of the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Pembrokeshire on Sunday (May 27th).

The Olympic Torch convoy is expected to arrive on the outskirts of Haverfordwest shortly after 12.30pm on Sunday.

From the A40, runners will carry the Olympic Flame through town via Picton Place, High Street, Dew Street, Albert Street, Barn Street, Perrots Road, Bridgend Square roundabout, Prendergast Road and Back Lane into Sir Thomas Picton School.

Shortly after 2pm, Torchbearers will take the flame back down to Bridgend Square roundabout before making their way up Sydney Rees Way past Withybush Hospital en route for Fishguard.

The Olympic Flame is expected to arrive in Fishguard just before 2.45pm when Torchbearers will again take to the road.

The Flame will make its way through town via the A487 and then down through Lower Fishguard.

The convoy will then move onto Newport where it is expected to arrive at around 3pm. Torchbearers will take the Olympic Flame through Newport before leaving to head off to the next destination, Cardigan.

While the Olympic Flame passes through the centres of Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Newport it will be necessary to temporarily close - in advance of and during - those roads which form the route.

This will ensure a safe environment is provided for both Torchbearers and also the general public watching the event.
