Police are warning people to be extremely cautious when employing door to door workmen.
The warning comes after five aluminium ladders were stolen from the garden of an elderly man between May 10th and 13th. The theft happened after the victim had employed a man who knocked on his door offering to do garden work.
The man is described as short at around 5’4”, rotund and aged around 30 years. He is reported to have visited other properties in the Haverfordwest area asking for gardening work.
Officers advise people to perform rigorous checks on people going door to door. They should ask for personal and company ID and should obtain receipts and personal contact details.
Anybody with any information on the theft should contact PC 1152 Howells at Haverfordwest police station on 101.
