Village splashes out for Jubilee
3:10pm Monday 4th June 2012 in News
Llanychaer is splashing out for the Queen’s Jubilee tomorrow (Tuesday)with a raft race, followed by fun and games on the green opposite the Bridgend Inn.
At 1pm a flotilla of home-made rafts will take to River Gwaun.
Rafts should be less than one foot square and made of recyclable materials. They should also carry a ‘passenger’ in the form of an old toy, who won’t mind getting wet or even lost.
The rafts will be judged at 1pm and then taken to the new footbridge for launching.
The finish will be the bridge in the village.
Fun and games will follow on the Green from 3pm to 4.30pm with a jubilee tea followed by a twmpath at 6pm.
A bar and food from the Bridgend Inn will be available during the evening.
Cwm Gwaun/Llanychaer jubilee mugs will also be available for sale.
