Those Germans certainly made stuff to last!!
I'm saddened to see you find this unexploded mine story to be a chance to make a cheap quip quentin. Those mines were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of young men from all over the uk, many of them from the near by port of milford haven.
I think it is disgraceful to mock their memory by posting an entirely inappropriate comment on such a story."

WWII mine found off Dale to be detonated

Milford Haven Port Authority is preparing to help with the controlled detonation and clearance of a large German naval mine discovered on the bed of the Milford Haven waterway just off Watwick Point near Dale.

MHPA is working with the Coastguard, Police and Navy Bomb Disposal Team to plan the safe detonation of the mine, which was found by a diver over the weekend.

The Port Authority will ensure the water is safe for the operation by sending two patrol boats to the area, along with two police patrol boats, to ensure there are no leisure boats nearby.

MHPA will also issue a navigational warning for all sailors.

The three ships due to sail out of the Haven this afternoon will do so before the detonation takes placed.

It is understood that the coastal path around Watwick Point may also be closed and that the Environment Agency has been informed.
