Water works begin today

Work is due to start today (Thursday) on a £198,000 scheme to upgrade the drinking water network in Devonshire Drive, near Tenby.

The 12-week project, being carried out by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, will see 3.2 kilometres of old water pipes being replaced with new plastic ones.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s distribution manager for the area, Graham Hughes, said: “This is part of our ongoing programme of work to replace and refurbish old water mains with new plastic pipes to ensure top quality drinking water for our customers for many, many years to come.”

Welsh Water will be investing £1.4 billion in its water and sewerage network between 2010 and 2015.
