Cruise liner cancels Milford visit

The cruise liner Ocean Countess, which was scheduled to visit Milford Haven on Sunday, has now had to cancel her stop entirely.

The vessel was initially due to visit Pembrokeshire today (Friday) but was delayed due to the bad weather forecast.

Sue Blanchard-Williams, Cruise and Event Coordinator at Milford Haven Port Authority, announced this afternoon that the liner will now completely miss Milford.

“Ocean Countess has to cancel its call to Milford Haven on Sunday 17th June,” she said.

“Unfortunately the weather is so severe that they are having to stay in Cobh, in Ireland, for yet another night. The itinerary is under review, but will not include Pembrokeshire.

“Cruise and Maritime are truly saddened they are unable to honour this booking, but they are schedule to return twice in September.”
