Police advice follows weather warning

Police are warning drivers in Pembrokeshire to take sensible precautions following warnings of more severe weather for Wales.

The Environment Agency has notified Dyfed-Powys Police that areas of the county could be exposed to severe weather conditions, including rain and strong winds, over the next 48 hours.

Current weather forecasts do not indicate a repeat of the flooding events seen last week; however we urge people to take sensible precautions if they are travelling across the Dyfed-Powys area.

Police and partner agencies will be monitoring the effect of any further rain fall on rivers and roads.

Emergency Services are urging people to avoid rivers and waterways as they remain extremely dangerous – especially coupled with high-winds.

“Don’t take any unnecessary risks,” said a spokesman. “Stay away from them until the weather conditions significantly improve.”
