Shops and businesses in and around Fishguard High Street have been evacuated following reports of a gas leak or possible explosion.

Emergency services are currently at the scene. A fire crew from Haverfordwest was called to the incident at around 10am, responding to reports of a gas leak. There are currently two crews at the scene.

Pembrokeshire county council said that their emergency planning team has been notified and that police are leading the investigation.

Local businesses and shops have been evacuated and roads closed.

Eyewitnesses are saying there has been an explosion with smoke and four foot flames coming out of a manhole by the Post Office.
