DIGNITARIES from across the county attended the civic service of Milford Haven Mayor Councillor Guy Woodham on Saturday.
An afternoon parade from the cenotaph in Hamilton Terrace, led by the ATC Corps band, was followed by the civic service at St Katharine and St Peters Church conducted by Canon John Davies with organist Mike Nicholas. The service included performances by Milford Haven Town Band and Neyland Ladies Choir.
An evening civic dinner for guests and county mayors was hosted at the Pill Social Centre.
Cllr Woodham said: “On Saturday I had the honour of being magnificently supported by family, friends and the citizens of Milford Haven and beyond.
This experience was very humbling and I am extremely grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a special occasion.
“My thanks also go to the ATC Corps Band, the Sea Cadets, Royal Marine Cadets, Army Cadets and all organisations that participated in the parade.”
Cllr Woodham said it was an ‘immense honour’ to be the Mayor and first citizen of the town.
