Two rescued from River Cleddau, Haverfordwest

TWO people were rescued from the River Cleddau, in Haverfordwest, last night (Monday).

A Haverfordwest fire crew was sent to Bridge Meadow Lane at about 7.30pm, after a woman fell into the water near Swan Square.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "The woman was pulled to safety by a member of the public and paramedics were in attendance to ensure their wellbeing. No injuries were reported."

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters threw lines to get the pair out of the water, although the coastguard was put on stand-by.

The two casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance.
